Niagara Youth Orchestra

Niagara Youth Orchestra The premiere training ground for young orchestral musicians in the Niagara Region since 1965 The junior members (Concert Orchestra) toured Quebec in 2018.

Led by professional coaches and conductors who are affiliated with orchestras across the province, musicians in the Niagara Youth Orchestra receive extensive music education and performance experiences through regular concert seasons and special events. The senior members (Symphonic Orchestra) have toured to Austria and Newfoundland, participated in exchanges with other youth orchestras in North America and performed with the Niagara Symphony in side-by-sides.

Niagara Youth Orchestra is a proud participant of Charitable Gaming! Through volunterism at Niagara Falls Charitable Gaming, we can continue our important work in the community.

Did you know NYO musicians don't just rehearse as a full orchestra?

Every week they also work in small sectional rehearsals with professional orchestral musicians who coach each instrument group.

This means more individual attention, faster musical growth, and a richer learning experience.

We believe this is one of the things that makes the Niagara Youth Orchestra truly special.

Did you know we've already held 11 successful placement auditions for the 2026–2027 season?

These auditions welcome new musicians to the Niagara Youth Orchestra and provide opportunities for returning members to advance to the next ensemble as their skills grow.

And we're not finished yet! More placement auditions are scheduled for July 28 and September 12, and we can't wait to meet even more talented young musicians from across Niagara.

Last summer, our orchestra performed at the prestigious Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival, sharing the stage with outstanding youth ensembles from around the world. It was an unforgettable experience of music, culture, and international friendship that our musicians will carry with them for life.
