This canvas was painted from a photo taken at a heritage railway.
The engineers are looking back with some amusement at a group of excited travellers gathered on the platform. The train will soon start with a slight jerk and an ear shattering whistle before the long hiss of steam signals a noisy departure.
I am happy to have this acrylic painting juried into FASM and on display at the Holcim Gallery, First Ontario Arts Centre in Milton from 27th August.
