🌖Era of the Moon: Phases🌘
explores the cyclical nature of the moon and its tidal lock to the earth. Looking up to the celestial body we see its phases through the dark and light chasing one another. I look into this internal dance between these two polarities and investigated the in-between, a dance of constant beginnings and ends, where the infinite of blackness and the finite of whiteness reach towards each other. Using the moon as a vessel for these feelings of liminality, it taught me how to embrace the repetitive nature of change in life and framework in which my body moves and takes space. This is an Era of Phases, a time-space to see the repetition in the world around us, coiling in and out of it/our-selves, molting and hardening into new bodies.

Era of the Moon: Phases

Dancing between the Infinite of Blackness and the Finite of Whiteness.

I am currently working with two amazing graphic designers .taka.hashi and . We had our second meeting recently where they presented me with a mood board and concept proposal and I could not stop smiling after that meeting. This is the first time I am working with someone to create a poster and zine about my work (as a takeaway from the show, so come to pick one up!), and it feels like such an honour to have these two on this project and interpret my ideas. If you have not seen the work that these two have created, you may not understand the artistry and potential of graphic design.

The images are scans of some of the costumes and other work, taken by Emi, that will be displayed at the Art Gallery of Burlington
