🎵✨ Help us welcome our Apprentice Conductor, Karen Hu!

Karen Hu is a music educator, choral conductor, and singer based in Milton, Ontario. They recently completed a Bachelor of Music with Honours in Voice Performance at Western University. As an avid choral artist, Karen has performed in various choral ensembles across the country including the National Youth Choir of Canada, the Ontario Youth Choir, and Modern Sound Collective. Currently, Karen serves as Co-Chair on Choral Canada’s Student Chapter Executive Committee. As a conductor, Karen has had the privilege of working with the Bach Children’s Chorus, Sistema Toronto, and Modern Sound Collective’s Datsuzoku.

When asked about his experience, Sidd went on to talk about this past season, "one of the most rewarding parts was performing Haydn’s Creation - and being supported and connected throughout by the mentorship made the journey just as memorable as the performance!"

What does an Apprentice Conductor actually do?

✨ Conduct the choir in rehearsals & performances
✨ Assist the Artistic Director in leading warm-ups and sectionals
✨ Participate as a performing member of the choir when not conducting
