Just listened to a short video with Joe Sugarman who shared some of the ideas that contributed to his successful career in sales and copywriting. I found myself making lots of notes + there are some real good nuggets in there, so I thought it would be worthwhile to share since many of us can benefit:
For every problem, there lies an OPPORTUNITY so great that it drafts the problem, and that is very important!
Take note of the problem + ask yourself “what are the opportunities?”
What makes a very successful football player? A player that has a big ego or a player that has lots of FAITH in the Lord.
Joe Sugarman has felt throughout his whole life, that although he has had his share of failures, he was persistently believing that he would be successful. He really, genuinely believed that. So whenever he failed in something, he felt that it was just a temporary thing + that he should go ahead + continue forward + not worry about it.
In other words, Joe would not be attached to any outcome, that was the KEY for him.
No matter what happened, he knew that he was a success + if he failed, he failed, and if he succeeded, he succeeded. That is the reason he has always been able to bounce back + achieve success. You’re not going to be successful in everything you do. Let’s face it, it is not possible. If someone is telling that they are always successful, they are not very truthful! So, the power of BELIEF is extremely powerful, and that is what Joe has run his business on.
Here is something else: If you want to achieve something, what Joe has found is: you think about it; you smell it; you touch it; you really get a feeling of exactly what you like + what you want,
and then when you have that, LET IT GO! And Joe says that it is the LET IT GO that really creates the manifestation.
That is one little bit of advice that Joe has followed in his life.
Another philosophy he has is that everything works out for the best. He even found that the bigger the failure, the bigger he was able to manifest things in the future.
So the failures did not distract him, even though they hurt, and you have to admit that these things do hurt...
BUT you just accept the fact that there is going to be a good income involved with it.
Another thing that Joe has found in his career, is that you find yourself going in the direction that you feel you are supposed to be going along in, and you keep on going along, and all of a sudden, something comes up that takes you 90 degrees from what you thought the direction you would go + you follow that new direction because that is where the fortunes are made.
A good example is Joe’s BluBlocker sunglasses. Joe was in electronics, he was not in sunglasses… But all of a sudden, BluBlocker came in, and that took him 90 degrees in a new direction + that became hugely successful + he actually got out of electronics.
