We'll be posting up daily Performing Artist features as we lead into the Bent On Art - Music & Performance Showcase this Saturday night, starting off with our favourite local Drag Act - The Dancing Legs 💃 They will be performing, as well as hosting the entirety of the event - which they also planned and coordinated!

These multidisciplinary artists who perform the art of Drag found that Burlesque gave them the platform and the freedom
to express their art and characters. They are happy to call the Kootenays home now, and to feel all the support from throughout the community. They find Drag to be a way to break the gender barrier and be whoever they want to be. Aiming to inspire other people to follow their hearts and be their true selves, The Dancing Legs use pure happiness, fun, sass and dance to spread their message. Cause let's be honest, what's life without a little spice!

With their performance piece for BOA, "we are telling the story of two conjoined twins - The Hamilton Sisters - who were famous in the 1950's for their physical appearance in film. When they realize that they are no longer happy being conjoined, they dream of the independence of having individual bodies.
There is an element of Yin and Yang, and the mood of the number goes from dark to empowering. The burlesque community really helped create a platform for The Dancing Legs to flourish, and this is our homage to burlesque."
