The Polaris Album Prize honours the Canadian Album of the Year, judged solely on artistic merit — not genre, sales, or popularity.

CBC presents the Polaris prize (it has nothing to do with us). However, we love to share good news - and 10 phenomenal albums judged purely on artistic merit is certainly something to celebrate!

Each season, an independent jury of 200+ Canadian critics, curators, and broadcasters listens, debates, and votes to reveal the Album Long List (40 nominees, June), the Album Short List (10 nominees, July), and the winner at the Polaris Concert & Award Ceremony each September in Toronto.

Polaris awards a $30,000 cash prize to the winner, courtesy of the Slaight Family Foundation. Check out all past winners and nominees by clicking here. The Polaris Music Prize Submission Portal is currently open for submissions for both the SOCAN Polaris Song Prize and Album Prize.

Announcing our 2026-27 Concert Series.

This is a big scary step for us. Up until now, the theatre has primarily operated as a rental venue, which sees seasonal fluctuation in programming quantity. We wanted to offer you more programming during the year, so we’re trying something new: presenting our own curated series of performances.

We've split the 17 confirmed shows into two streams.
1. Blue Room Collective (Our Intimate Jazz & Blues Series)
2. "Polaris Presents" (Tribute Shows & Local Legends)

There's a mix of tribute shows, original productions, local legends, and holiday specials—so there really is something for everyone. Add in the seven Blue Room shows (recently announced), and we’re now looking at regular programming, for the most part, at least twice a month.

Ticket packages are available in the following formats:
1. Full Season Ticket (everything) - save 25% plus VIP perks
2. Blue Room Series (7 shows) - save 20% plus VIP perks
3. Polaris Presents Series (10 shows) - save 20% plus VIP perks
