Amara Zee, a nautical theatrical venue
The Amara Zee, the theatre ship of the Caravan Stage Company was built, along the lines of a Thames River Sailing Barge, in Kingston, Ontario Canada by the Caravan Stage Society, from 1993 to 1997. For 21 years this unique theatrical company has toured the waters of Canada, the US, the EU and Balkan countries performing spectacle rock operas on the decks and in the rigging of the ship. Now back in Canada, the ship is doing a major refit of the 30 meter steel hulled vessel at the Shelter Island Marina and Boatyard in Richmond BC.
