Uzume Taiko is West Coast Canada’s premiere professional taiko drumming group.

Performing both nationally and internationally since 1989, the group performs their unique West Coast Canadian taiko drumming styles to receptive audiences the world over.

Fall classes start this Saturday and there is something for everyone!

- Intro to Taiko Drumming workshop on Saturday, Sept 5th at 11 AM
- Basic Drills series of 12 classes starting on Thu, Sept 10th at 7:30 PM
- Songs class series of 12 classes, available twice per week, starting on Wed, Sept 9th at 7:30 PM and Fri, Sept 11th at 1 PM

Join us for one or several classes and enjoy the art and joy of taiko!

Thank you Powell Street Festival for having us! It was wonderful to play on the Jackson Street Stage to a welcoming, enthusiastic audience.

We are already looking forward to next year's celebrations. And don't forget - there are still a number of great local taiko groups performing at the festival on Sunday, August 2nd. Come support this festival to help keep it going for many more decades!

Today is the day! We are proud to join many local taiko groups in performing on the stage of the 50th annual Powell Street Festival!

At 12:30 PM we will raise our bachi to strike the drums with joy, honor and celebration. ✨ See you there!
