Progress on the 3rd single for my babydoll sample, this one has sari silk in hot pink and peduncle silk (the brown bits) I love how the colour changed with just a bit of these fibres added. I am also happy I’m getting more practice with my heavier supported spindles. I’m loving them and looking forward to keep spinning with them. , using spindle for my silky singles

Today’s spinning on a drop spindle I bought after a workshop with a few years ago. After spinning 15 g of wool, I am so happy I’m getting to know this tool better and looking forward to getting to use it more. Singles spun woollen 20 makes and 2 1/2 flicks.

Had an amazing weekend workshop with my dear friend and mentor and my wonderful guild members .weavers.spinners guild. We used gorgeous hand-dyed fibre and learnt so many new techniques. Thank you Kim for always going beyond the “flavour of the day” 💙 thank you for providing us with wonderful facilities to build community.

Having the right fibre prep can be a roadblock for your spinning practice. After filming the soon to be released course with I took the time to prepare 50 g of BFL + Silk with sari silk and yak as rolags to have my favourite prep to spin with spindles. I’m test driving 3 spindles (and loving them) and I’m happy to report I’m already back spinning both in the e-spinner and the spindles after carpal tunnel release procedure. Feeling thankful for my work, the walks with my kids, friends and spinning.
