You may have noticed, you may have not but I will no longer be making under the name sisaret.
After a solid 7 years stamping this name under my work I’ve decided to let it go! I’ve been thinking of this change for at least a year now and it never really feels like the right time (I’m feeling like it’s similar to the effort involved in changing banks haha)
For those of you who have been here awhile, you may know that sisaret means sisters and it started as a collaborative project between my sister and I, Teia Lindfors. While we loved sharing our crafts together under this name, for the last few years it’s just been me!
When we/I started it also felt like the time for tiny brands. I loved making behind a name and building a tiny brand in my creative online corner. I loved sending my pots around and watching them be collected.
This last year or so I’ve been less interested in this idea of having a brand and more interested in creating under my real name. It feels like it could encompass more of my art and my being!
Pottery across the ages have so often been signed by a humble maker’s mark, often initials or a small symbol and I want to humbly follow in this tradition and sign my own name on my pots.
For now the pots that have this new mark are mostly my wood fired pieces from June and a few random projects but I’ll be slowly changing and retiring my stamp!
(Also who needs two weird Finnish names in the world, kaisa is strange enough. Ha.)
