Tommy & Père is a new script by Arthur Milner. This play imagines a private meeting between Athol “Père” Murray and Tommy Douglas.

This play features a fictional conversation during Saskatchewan’s bitter Doctors’ Strike in July 1962. The strike lasted 22 days, resulting in the Saskatchewan Medical Care Insurance Act—the foundation of modern national healthcare. The play evokes the seething tension between opposing perspectives during those crucial 3 weeks in our province.
