Meet Music Director Candidate Cosette Justo Valdes.
Cuban-born conductor and rising international artist, Cosette Justo Valdés is known for her high-energy, expressive performances across Europe, the United States, and Canada. A passionate advocate for diverse voices, she champions music by women, Indigenous, and living composers, and is recognized for her innovative, interdisciplinary programming.
During the Regina Symphony Orchestra’s 2026/27 season, Cosette will lead four exciting concerts showcasing the full range of the orchestra’s programming:

💀 Death Dance | October 24, 2026
Featuring pianist Élisabeth Pion in Liszt’s electrifying Totentanz, this gripping program journeys from the folk-inspired rhythms of Kodály to Beethoven’s heroic Eroica Symphony, with the world premiere of Muskwa’s Mountain Home by Sparvier-Wells.

Experience the beloved holiday classic on the big screen with Danny Elfman’s iconic score performed live by the Regina Symphony Orchestra. A whimsical and cinematic celebration for all ages.
🌿 Ravel, Morlock & Schubert | January 30, 2027
Take flight with an elegant program featuring flutist Christie Reside, pairing Ravel’s luminous Le Tombeau de Couperin and Morlock’s evocative Ornithomancy with Schubert’s joyful Symphony No. 6, blending timeless classics with contemporary brilliance.
