Watch out for Rites of Passage; a new play written, directed and produced by Ibukun Fasunhan for the 2023 edition of RISER Regina.

'Rites of Passage' is a new play centering around the experiences of a Nigerian immigrant in Canada and a settler Canadian. Based on the playwrights’s experiences of immigrating to Canada after waiting for a decision for more than two years, the play takes the audience through the psychological and emotional trauma faced by many immigrants before immigrating to, and while living in, Canada. The play also sheds lights to identity issues faced by mixed-race people.

This production is appropriate for all ages, but is recommended for ages 16 and up.

This production is grateful for the support of Canada Council for the Arts.

Doors will open 30 mins before the showtime.
We will hold the doors for the 2:00pm and 7:30pm buses at the Riddell Centre to accommodate any audience members using public transport.

RISER is supported by the Government of Canada, RBC Foundation, and a community of Senior Partners. RISER Regina is presented by On Cue Performance Hub & Why Not Theatre.
