๐๐ข๐ด๐ต is a soft sculpture made from unbleached cotton, thread, avocado pits (dye), quilt batting, fleece, and embroidery thread.
Sheโs a bit empty, a bit full. I hoped she would feel like a discarded shell, suit, skin, husk.
I love how curator Felicia Gay installed ๐๐ข๐ด๐ต at the MacKenzie, the piece makes so much sense to me. The works that are in view of her, like ๐๐ณ๐ฆ ๐ ๐ฐ๐ถ ๐๐ฆ๐ณ๐ท๐ฐ๐ถ๐ด? and ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฉ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ต๐ฆ๐ฅ give so much back into the piece ๐ชกโจ
