🧡🧡
We’re honoured to wear orange.
This year, FIREFLY is proud to share our own Truth and Reconciliation shirt, featuring the beautiful artwork of Jacinda Brisson of Red Lake.
The artwork, originally created for the Indigenous Professional Learning Opportunities (IPLO) program, represents inner growth, connection, knowledge and nourishment. The shirt was then brought to life through collaboration with John Semple from Kasabonika Lake First Nation, who helped create the final design. Finally, the actual t-shirts were produced by Ungalli Clothing Co. in Thunder Bay, a Canadian company focused on ethical and sustainable apparel.
For us, this is about more than wearing orange. It is about supporting Indigenous artists, entrepreneurs and businesses, honouring Indigenous voices and leadership, and continuing the work of truth, reconciliation, and equity in our everyday practice.
So this September 30, our staff will be wearing our shirts and reflecting on the work still ahead. 🧡
