WE'RE HIRING: Band Director - Monday Night Adult Band
The Red Deer Community Band Society is seeking a passionate and experienced Band Director for our Monday Night (Advanced) Adult Band.
Our Monday Night Band is a thriving ensemble of 50+ musicians ranging from 3 to 50 years of playing experience. Performing traditional concert band repertoire at Grade 3.5-5 levels, the band provides an opportunity for musicians to reconnect with their passion for music while performing in a supportive and rewarding community environment.
📍 Rehearsals: Mondays, 7:00-9:00 PM (September-May)
We're looking for someone who:
• Has a Bachelor of Music degree (or equivalent training and experience)
• Possesses extensive knowledge of concert band literature
• Has experience directing concert or community bands
• Can inspire, motivate, and develop musicians of varying ages and abilities
• Demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Understands how to engage audiences through a mix of traditional band literature and familiar, meaningful music
Most importantly, we're seeking a leader who can create a professional, motivating, and nurturing environment where musicians can achieve their highest level of performance.
