We're Hiring a full-time Box Office / Administrative Coordinator for CAT/Red Deer Memorial Centre!

Monday to Friday (weekday hours)

Full details and how to apply at https://www.reddeermemorialcentre.ca/jobs

The Box Office / Administrative Coordinator is a full-time weekday role that serves as the front-line customer service and administrative anchor for the Red Deer Memorial Centre. Working primarily Monday to Friday from the box office, this person supports ticket sales, patron inquiries, volunteer coordination, and a broad range of administrative functions connected to both front-of-house and operations.

This is not a front-line service role alone. It requires strong organizational and computer skills, comfort working independently, and the judgment to make decisions on behalf of the organization when needed. The right person brings administrative capability, technical proficiency, and initiative — someone who can manage systems, support marketing efforts, coordinate volunteers, and keep multiple moving parts organized without needing to be managed closely.

Such great work from our very own Artistic Producer, Jeremy Robinson and all the cast involved! Kudos Jeremy and we look forward to seeing the next iteration of your play "After the Garden".

Jeremy submitted an unproduced play through Red Deer Players Society's Breaking Cover. Full details at https://www.reddeerplayers.com/breaking-cover.html
Breaking Cover is a play development series that provides Albertan Playwrights with valuable tools to test their newest work. They are currently soliciting finished but previously unproduced plays for their 6th annual new play reading series!

We provide a director, cast, mini rehearsal process, and light dramaturgical support to your manuscript. It culminates with a public reading in the beautiful Snell Auditorium at the Red Deer Public Library. The reading is followed by a moderated question-and-answer period with your audience, so that you leave with new insight into your play from the inside out.

Submissions will remain open until 11pm on June 15th, 2026.

Thank goodness! 🙏 what an amazing turnout and a wonderful talkback with playwright . We always appreciate our test audiences for giving their time, attention, and taste on a sunny Sunday.

Let’s play with set design! 🎨 Did you know theatre can do so much more than recreate realistic walls, living rooms, and furniture? Join us Saturday May 30th at 1pm for this free, all-ages, all-skill-level workshop exploring how colour, texture, shape, and symbolism can create a dynamic storytelling space.

Workshop instructor Lacey Oleson-Rinehart will guide participants through hands-on exercises using art supplies to discover how simple forms can create a complex effect. Together, we’ll explore how abstract design can evoke mood, suggest location, support movement, and spark audience imagination… often with a smaller budget and bigger impact than literal realism.

Perfect for aspiring set designers, directors, playwrights, and curious theatre-makers looking to broaden their creative toolkit. Admission is free, with pay-what-you-will donations accepted afterward.

Please register through our Showpass page at www.showpass.com/outside-the-box
