We've known and had the opportunity to work with Rachel Stillings for many years now, first starting as an on-air personality for Shaw Tv, then Shaw Spotlight, Actor for Central Alberta Theatre and now taking the lead in NEAR. As always, she brings her positivity, charisma, and energy to everyone around her. But this time I saw a new side to Rachel, she took the newer actors under her wing and became one of the best mentors I could ask for on a set. Thanks, Rachel, for everything you bring to set.

Kori Barry : Lady of many talents from boom operator to talent wrangler. Kori’s favorite place may not be in the middle of know where, in the dark, at 4am. But has a knack for always being positive and getting the job done. Thanks for all you did on this project.

Karrah-Lynn Barry : Great actor with lots of promise for the future. Karrah has been with the production NEAR from the beginning and on set with us twice and both times showing her ability to follow direction and her overall attention given to her role has been exemplary.

Curtis Labelle was asked to work on the Soundtrack for NEAR but his positions turned out to be much much more taking on roles of Production Assistant, Boom Operator, Grip, and of course Crafty! Refusing to order in and treating everyone to his tailgate cuisine. The dichotomy of seeing Curtis in these supporting roles and just nailing it as an umbrella operator still makes us laugh but a sign of a true community leader is the ability to support his community of creatives.

Cassandra Hinnegan: Assistant Producer on top of everything. To list the range of responsibilities she covered on this production might be a lit overwhelming. Her ability to keep everything organized and on track during all stages of pre-production and on-set is always impressive.

Shiv Shanks: Always up for supporting the arts and a fantastic creative on his own with music and film. Shiv not only has a role in the film but helped as a grip and set design. Knowing that his call time was early dawn at 4am, he still donated his time from setup to teardown. We can’t thank him enough. NEAR

Well, what can I say! Jared Labelle signed onto the NEAR Production to be a Production Assistant and was moved into the role of Emmitt two days before the shoot due to an actor testing positive for Covid. He took on the challenge and with a few nights of stress and some hard work on set he made the role his own and brought his own flair to the role.
