What an incredible weekend of breakaway roping! We couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap up the Punchy Pistol Productions season.

We saw some smokin’ fast runs, big catches, and some seriously impressive roping all weekend long!

A huge congratulations to Sil Huber who had an incredible weekend and was on a roll after making her very first catch to then smoking another 4 and winning $677.66! 🔥👏

A HUGE thank you to the Comox Valley Exhibition for allowing us to bring breakaway roping to the CVEX and giving us the opportunity to showcase our sport to such a great crowd. We are so grateful for the support and the chance to be part of this event!

To our amazing volunteers - THANK YOU. None of this happens without the people behind the scenes running timers, announcing, helping in the arena, handling cattle, setting up, flagging, tearing down and doing all the little things that keep everything moving. We appreciate you more than you know.

For this event in particular, it took a lot of set up, organizing and hard work to bring in panels, chute, the cattle and all the equipment necessary to run what I think was one of our best events yet! There were some very special people who showed up days prior and stayed until the bitter end to help set up and take everything down. When everyone else gets to go home and the work still needs to be done, you’re the ones who stay and it doesn’t go unnoticed ❤️

This season has been filled with new faces, new opportunities, hard work, big wins and so many memories. We are incredibly grateful to every competitor, volunteer, sponsor, supporter and friend who helped make this season happen!

STAY TUNED as we have some awesome prizes to give out at some point once the dust has settled and I’m able to go through all of our results to award our season winners!

In the meantime, we need everyone planning to camp and/or bring horses to complete the attached CVEX Camping & Horse Accommodation Form.

PLEASE COMPLETE THE FORM IN FULL! 📝

The form only has spaces for camping on the CVEX Grounds, so please write directly on the form:

🏕️ Where you will be camping:
• CVEX Grounds - horses stalled
• Dove Creek Field - self penning

🐴 Where your horses will be kept:
• How many stalls you require
• OR self-penning in the Dove Creek Field

Important: Anyone can rent stalls, but you can only self-pen your horses if you are camping in the Dove Creek Field with your horses.

⚡ Equerry FAST TIME⚡

This weekend’s fastest run belonged to Addi Cullen, who blazed to a 2.62 second run to claim the Equerry Fast Time Award!

🏆 Addi Cullen had an outstanding weekend, earning $317.13 across the Open and Fast Time awards. As one of the youngest competitors in our arena, Addi continues to rope with confidence well beyond her years. She’s an incredible young athlete with a bright future, and it’s so exciting to watch her continue to raise the bar every time she backs into the box.

🥈 Jill Telosky was just 0.05 seconds behind with a lightning fast 2.67 second run. Jill also had an exceptional weekend, taking home $534.27 in winnings. Her consistency and positive attitude is something every competitor should strive for, and alongside her trusted partner Goose, these two are becoming one tough team to beat!

Congratulations to both ladies on an incredible weekend, and a huge thank you to Equerry Veterinary Services and Dr. Colin Scruton for sponsoring our Fast Time award and supporting the growth of breakaway roping on Vancouver Island!
