The Earl Mah Aquatic Centre is dedicated to Earl Mah, a life-time member of the community of Prince Rupert. Earl Mah was the first Chinese-Canadian born in Prince Rupert, and a respected volunteer, business man, and city alderman. The facility opened its doors to the public on March 6, 1982. The Aquatic Centre provides a place for individuals and families of all ages to enjoy themselves. Facilitie

s include an indoor pool complete with diving pool, tot pool, swimming lanes, saunas, hot tub and a fitness area overlooking the pools. Originally opened as the Prince Rupert Civic Centre on October 16, 1971, the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre has offered a place for the community to live and play actively since its inception. With the Civic Centre's re-dedication to Jim Ciccone and his family on February the 9th, 1996, it continues its tradition of steadfast dedication to Prince Rupert and all of its visitors by supplying quality facilities for community activities. Facilities include the Russell Gamble Gymnasium, activity rooms, an auditorium, a pottery room, a shibhori fabric arts room, a crafts room, and an ice arena.

Our summer campers have been keeping busy! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ

Weโ€™ve been getting out and exploring Prince Rupert with some pretty fun field trips lately! From learning about the port and its role in our community at the Port Interpretive Centre (Prince Rupert Port Authority) to getting our hands dirty at RupertSchools gardens for some garlic picking, and sword fighting with Good Times Games, thereโ€™s been plenty to see, do and discover.

Weโ€™re making the most of these last few weeks of summer with lots of adventures, laughs and new experiences!

Happening tomorrow in the Rec parking lot! Please note we are asking Desert Hills if they are accepting walk up orders tomorrow.

Desert Hills Farms is coming this Thursday, August 20th - and if it's anything like last year, we know there will be lines! (Y'all love these dancing produce people!). We've made this handy map to help you navigate the crowds and our parking lot.

A couple of logistical things:

๐Ÿ‘‰ People coming for produce are requested to please use the entrance closest to 9th Avenue West off of Highway 16 (see map), and exit on Wantage Road (next to the Lester Centre). This will keep traffic moving more efficiently.

๐Ÿ‘‰ There will be four loading zones once you make your way through the line-up in the parking lot (marked on the map). There will also be people on site helping to direct traffic.

๐Ÿ‘‰ General facility users should enter and exit using Wantage Road (next to the Lester Centre) to avoid the crowds.

๐Ÿ‘‰ The bus stop in front of the Civic Centre will be moved in front of Mission Health for the day to alleviate potential bus delays.

Weโ€™re teaming up with Coast Mountain College for an evening that starts with getting your brain workingโ€ฆ and ends with getting in the pool!

Coast Mountain College will be joining us with pizza and some fun, fast-paced board games. ALL ABOARD FOR PIRATE ADVENTURE CAMP!

Ahoy, mateys! Get ready for a week of treasure hunts, pirate games, adventures and plenty of summer fun! Pirate Adventure Camp is setting sail August 24โ€“28, and weโ€™re looking forward to an action-packed week for young adventurers.

Children will dive into pirate-themed games, challenges, creative activities and plenty of opportunities to get outside, stay active and have fun with friends. There may even be some treasure to find along the way! ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ

Whether theyโ€™re ready to be captain of the ship or just along for the adventure, itโ€™s sure to be a week full of fun.
