✨ Your resume doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s!

I had the pleasure of creating this visual resume cover page for Sheila Giesbrecht—a creative way to showcase her accomplishments, experience, and unique talents while making a memorable first impression.

We wanted the design to reflect the person behind the accomplishments—creative, capable, accomplished, and full of ideas.

A visual resume is a great way to stand out, spark curiosity, and showcase what makes you unique.

Because sometimes, the best way to get someone to read your resume… is to give them something they want to look at!!

Meet Anna Gorman, a visual storyteller helping people see their thinking come to life.

Anna is a graphic recorder, illustrator, and visual storyteller who transforms complex conversations into engaging visual stories through live drawing. What began as doodling in the margins of her notebook has become the foundation of a career built around listening, clarity, connection, and shared understanding.

With a background in design and more than a decade of experience using quick sketches to communicate ideas, Anna now works with communities, organizations, governments, and Indigenous groups across British Columbia to capture conversations in real time.

Anna will be speaking alongside Yolanda Liman, founder of Drawing it Out, as they explore how visual thinking can help us listen more deeply, understand more clearly, and uncover ideas together.

Meet the creative genius behind Drawing it Out !!! Come hear Yolanda share her 20 years of visual learning expertise at this year's talk. She'll inspire you to rethink how we approach learning, collaboration, and connection!

Meet Yolanda Liman, founder of Drawing it Out and one of the speakers joining us at TEDx Kalamalka Lake 2026.

Yolanda is a creative facilitator who helps transform meetings and conversations into meaningful experiences where people leave with clarity, inspiration, and a shared sense of purpose.

For more than 20 years, she has worked with First Nations communities and organizations, governments, educational institutions, and corporations across Canada, helping groups navigate complexity, bridge diverse perspectives, and turn conversation into action.

Yolanda will be speaking alongside Anna Gorman, who was introduced last week, as they explore how visual facilitation can help us make ideas visible, listen more deeply, and understand the bigger picture together.

Ohana is a Hawaiian word that means family. At its heart, ohana emphasizes that family is defined by connection, support, and responsibility, not just by blood.

My wonderful neighbour recently asked if I could create something a little different—a custom illustrated map to celebrate an unforgettable all-girls family cruise.

She had written a beautiful 30-page journal capturing every adventure, heartfelt conversation, unexpected laugh, and special moment along the way, and wanted a cover that would reflect the journey inside.

So, I turned their travels into a keepsake map. Woven throughout the illustration are tiny details, inside jokes, memorable stops, and subtle references that only their family will truly understand. Every little element tells a story, inviting them to relive those moments each time they open the journal.

I love projects like this because they go beyond creating art—they preserve memories. Long after the trip is over, they'll have a one-of-a-kind reminder of the places they explored, the experiences they shared, and the bond they strengthened together.

What an honour to help transform a family's adventure into something they'll treasure for a lifetime. ❤️

Your voice matters. 💙

What an incredible event. I had the privilege of creating a vision board that captured the qualities, strengths, and supports that help Carrier Sekani men thrive, while helping inform future priorities for men’s wellness.

The feedback boards filled up quickly as participants shared their hopes, dreams, challenges, and lived experiences. It was a powerful reminder that vulnerability is a superpower and that every story matters.

A special shoutout to the keynote speakers, who reminded us to never give up on ourselves or each other. Change is always possible, and there is always someone who cares.

Thank you for trusting me to capture your collective wisdom. Your strength, resilience, and commitment to one another are helping build a future where Carrier Sekani men continue to thrive. ✨

A huge thank you to all of the phenomenal participants at this week's gathering hosted by the Outdoor Recreation Council of British Columbia celebrating 50 years!

Thank you for sharing your bold visions for the future of BC's outdoor spaces. From stewardship and inclusion to access and recreation experiences, the passion in the room was undeniable.

It's exciting to imagine what's possible when so many dedicated people come together with a shared commitment to creating regenerative recreation that benefits communities, visitors, and the landscapes we love.
The future of outdoor recreation in BC is looking bright—and it's being shaped by your collective wisdom, energy, and united voices. 🌿💚
