As a woman with a proud indigenous artisans heart, I always admire good art wherever and whenever. This totem pole was carved by Edenshaw Haida men, and raised here all the way in Jasper. The colours, the shapes , the horns on the mountain goat … I love admiring work like this. And noticing characteristics that are unique to the Haida Nation’s artistic style.
This Easter weekend was a fun one, I spent it with my nephew and mom, connecting with family and visiting Jasper for a day, as well as the Columbia ice fields .. and today I’ve seen my beaver tattoo design come to life through fine tattoo work, in the Smithers BC area 😊

To know that people love my art so much, that they decide to get it permanently inked, the eight year old girl in me is proud that adult me is actually doing the thing ☺️❤️
I’m glad she had all the support, enthusiasm, and encouragement to never stop creating. She’s been through moments when other kids wanted to play sports as their activity in summer camp, but my friends reluctantly stayed with me with out of love and care for what brought me joy, creating art 🫶🏽
I also completed the Indigenous Artisans Accelerator program 🎉 so I’m still in the process of fine tuning my new website and amplifying my personal presence online , like putting in the time for this blog post 😊
Do you have little creatives in your lives ? If you do, gift them supplies, pencils and markers to nurture it, I’ve been privileged and lucky enough to grow up with that around me , and I hope every creative out there, young and old can have that too 🙂
