📣 This May, the John V. Hicks Gallery is turning into the studio of Gabriela Garcia-Luna! 📣

From May 1st to 23rd, the John V. Hicks Gallery at the Margo Fournier Arts Centre will be transformed into Gabriela's site for research, exploration, and art-making.

🌷 Gabriela García-Luna is a photo-based multimedia artist born in Mexico City and based in Treaty Six Territory (Saskatoon). She uses a combination of mediums to blur the limits between photography, digital work, printmaking, drawing, and installation.

We invite you to attend the following activities with Gabriela at the John V. Hicks Gallery:

✨ Artist Talk - Thursday April 30th at 7:00 PM ✨
Get to know Gabriela! In this artist talk and presentation, Gabriela will dive into the evolution of her practice in Mexico, India, and Saskatchewan.

✨ Free cyanotype workshops with Gabriela ✨

✨ Exhibition - June 1st to 23rd ✨
This residency will culminate in an exhibition of Gabriela's work at the John V. Hicks Gallery from June 1st to 23rd, 2026.
On Thursday June 4th at 7:00 PM, Gabriela will give a talk to reflect on the residency and speak about the exhibition.

This residency and exhibition is curated by Jesse Campbell, with support from the Prince Albert Council for the Arts, the Northern Lights Community Development Corporation, the Margo Fournier Arts Centre, and the City of Prince Albert.

The Prince Albert Council for the Arts extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended this year’s Evergreen Artisan Market, and to our incredible vendors, musicians, and volunteers who made it all possible.

Your support helps keep creativity alive in our community! The funds raised through this annual event will support youth programming at the Open Art Studio and exhibitions at the John V. Hicks Gallery at the Margo Fournier Arts Centre.

Together, we are building a vibrant arts community in Prince Albert—thank you for being part of it!

Entry to the Evergreen Artisan Market is just a $5 donation (ages 12+) — and every dollar goes directly toward keeping creativity alive in our community.

Your donation helps fund:
> The Open Art Studio — This is a free program for young artists ages 8-16. The program runs each Wednesday from September until March or April each year from 6:00 – 8:30 pm at the Margo Fournier Arts Centre.
> The John V. Hicks Gallery — a home for local exhibitions
> Local guilds and arts programs — supporting artists right here in Prince Albert
