🎉 Exciting News! Geneva Tait has been awarded the 2024 City of Prince Albert Lifeguard Scholarship, valued at $2,000. This scholarship, introduced in 2023, honors lifeguards for their exceptional work both in their roles and in the community. 🏆

Geneva has been a dedicated lifeguard with the City of Prince Albert since 2021. She has worked at the Kinsmen Water Park and FJD Pool and has also taught swimming at Emma and Christopher Lakes. Currently, Geneva is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Minot State University, where she continues to volunteer her time teaching swimming to children at the local pool!. 🏊‍♀️

“The support from the City of Prince Albert’s Aquatics Department will allow me to pursue my passion and continue to grow both in and out of the pool,” Geneva shared.

Lauren Haubrich, Recreation Coordinator for Aquatics, highlighted Geneva’s impressive dedication. “Geneva’s commitment to water safety and her volunteer efforts make her an outstanding candidate for this scholarship,” Haubrich remarked. “The lifeguard team is made up of remarkable individuals and that is demonstrated through the excellent scholarship applicants this year.”

EDIT: Monday, July 15, 2024: Lane swim, public swim, and swimming lessons are back on!

🚨 The main pool at the Kinsmen Water Park will be closed until further notice while lifeguards work on getting the water crystal clear again! The top photo is the current clarity of the pool and the bottom photo is what it should be.

Safety is the number one priority, so the pool will be closed until lifeguards can spot swimmers properly. The hot tub remains closed until further notice due to mechanical issues. Stay tuned for updates.

✅ Waterslides and tot pool remain open.
