Call for Indigenous Artists – Transit Shelter Art Designs 🚌✨

The City of Prince Albert is seeking Indigenous artists to design artwork for three of our community’s transit shelters. This project is an opportunity to:
✅ Celebrate Indigenous culture and identity
✅ Contribute to reconciliation in our community
✅ Create welcoming, vibrant, and meaningful public spaces
✅ Build pride in our city, also known as Kistapinanihk – the great meeting place

🖌️ Eligibility
Open to Indigenous artists in Saskatchewan, with preference for those in Prince Albert and surrounding communities. We welcome submissions from youth and underrepresented groups, including LGBTQIA2S+, deaf artists, and persons with disabilities.

💰 Compensation
Chosen artists will each receive $1,000 for their selected design. Up to six designs may be submitted per artist.

📅 Deadline
Submissions due by 5:00 PM, Wednesday, September 30, 2025.

Representing Our Spirit: Ribbon Pants & Skirt Workshop
Studio Q - Prince Albert | August 7 & 8
6:00-9:00pm

‼️Must Register‼️

This free, Two-Spirit-led workshop is open to Indigenous youth and adults ages 15 and up, with priority given to those who are 2SLGBTQIA+.

Come create your own ribbon pants or ribbon skirt — whichever you feel drawn to — and learn about the history of ribbon wear, Two-Spirit identity, and how colonialism has shaped gendered teachings.

No experience necessary!

Facilitated by Two-Spirit Indigenous artist Syndel Thomas Kozar (.shines).

Snacks will be provided.

Registration is required. Due to limited spots, only selected participants will be contacted with event details.
