Worked as manager and talent buyer for The Town Pump (500 seat venue) from1981 to 95, and 86st Music Hall from approx (1000 seat venue) from about 88 to 95.

closely with many other promoters of that time, such as Peter McCollough (Timbre Productions), Frank Weipert (Teamworks), Laurie Mercer, Marcus Pollard and Gary VanBuskirk (Harpos).
5. I did immigration for bands coming in from the states and around the world, set up interviews, dealt with riders, and generally made sure the bands were happy and comfortable

7. Hired and trained staff for both venues (Town Pump and 86 st)
8. My office was above The Town Pump, on Water st. I would go there about 10 in the morning and do all my bookings, always booking at least 3 mos in advance, ads, posters, interview
arrangements, immigration, etc, then at 4pm, head downstairs to get ready for whatever show was happening that night. we were open 7 days a week so…….there was a lot of work involved, and a lot of scheduling.
9. Some of the many bands that we had roll through these 2 live music venues are Los lobos, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, DOA, Sandmen, Spy v Spy, Lady Smith Black Mombazo, No Means No, Cadillac Tramps, 54.40. There were thousands.
10. Started working with Cecil English in 2015, and decided to start a production company, which we are calling Alternight Productions. Cecil's background
1. Got interested in the music business in the early 70’s while still in high school.
2. Started learning to do sound from friends who were mixing live bands in the mid 70’s
3. Began mixing bands live at clubs and hall shows and also purchased multitrack recording equipment in 1979 in order to start recording bands at their rehearsal spaces and also in some clubs like the Commodore and Rohan’s Rockpile etc.
4. Built my 1st home studio in 1979.
5. Built my 1st commercial studio in 1982 in an artist warehouse space (Cityspace)
6. Began working at Rocky Mountain Sound as a live music tech in 1982.
7. Amalgamated with Profile studios in 1984 and did a lot of recording and production for DOA, Jello Biafra, Nomeansno, SNFU, The Smalls, Roots Roundup, The Beatfarmers, etc etc until 2001.
8. Moved to Amsterdam in 2001 and got involved in audio and video production with Frank, the house sound person from the Melkweg (Amsterdam’s version of the Commodore)
9. Moved back to Vancouver in 2003 and built up a home studio and video post production suite.
10. Got back into live band sound mixing in 2010 as a sound tech for The One Stop Rock Shop.
11. By 2014 I had acquired enough gear to install a sound system at SBC (formerly the Smilin’ Buddha)
12. Established myself for the last 3 years as the house sound tech at SBC.
13. Started a production company with Donna Mabbett called Alternight Productions.
