Earlier this fall, I had the immense privilege of making a gift for Marie Wilson. She was one of the commissioners for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) here in Canada.
Throughout the process, Marie gained the nickname “the synthesizer” as she very eloquently synthesized residential school experiences that were shared with them by survivors.
The piece is made with Miyuki Delica beads, backed with recycled leather, and filled with cedar medicine.
Check out Marie’s book “North of Nowhere.”
