Tuesday Night Talks at Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Tuesday, October 20 at 6:30 pm is Beyond Peggy’s Cove. Great opportunity to visit the Museum free from 4-8pm.

Join author Stacy Ann Milford for an illustrated journey to some of the province's most unusual and remarkable places. Inspired by Stacy’s book "Beyond Peggy's Cove: 51 Unusual and Remarkable Sites in Nova Scotia", this presentation combines stunning images with stories of exploration, discovery, local history, and the adventures of uncovering hidden gems across the province. Followed by a Q&A and book signing. Books are available for purchase in the Marine Heritage Store.

Good news everyone - the book is almost here! 😍 The pictures are adorable and the patterns by KT Knits & Design are excellent.

Navigating the seasons in Newfoundland and Labrador is tricky. Is T-shirt weather in December possible? Yes! Snow in June? Yes! As is everything in between. In this type of climate, knitwear is a year-round staple.

This collection of patterns for children is inspired by the need a for a flexible, practical wardrobe. You can knit a wardrobe suited to the wide range of outdoor activities enjoyed by all ages: fishing, jumping in the leaves, catching capelin, hiking, beachcombing, berry picking, sledding, etc.

Little Island Knits features 17 patterns inspired by traditional elements of Newfoundland and Labrador knitting and designed for the typical east coast day. This includes a mix of garments (sized newborn to age 10) and accessories (sized newborn to adult). All have been developed with functionality in mind for young children as they grow and play; some are fresh takes on vintage styles from the author’s own childhood.

Little Island Knits also includes contributions from Shirley Scott (“Shirl the Purl”), co-author of the best-selling Saltwater Knits series.
