CREATOR OF LIGHT

This 24x32 inch mixed-media acrylic painting uses heavy texture and layered colour to explore a Finnish legend that the Arctic Fox paints the northern lights. I chose to let the Canadian red fox take up the brush instead, imagining it casting our Aurora Borealis across the sky with its magic.

QUIET FREEDOM

This 24x30 inch acrylic painting draws from my walks along Lake Erie, particularly the stretch of Erie Rest Beach beyond the bluffs where swallows carve their homes. Every time I pass through, I picture the shoreline as it once was, when native horses moved freely along the water’s edge, long before our footprints and sea-glass hunts shaped its stories.
