Theory is cool. Music is cooler. Theory can be a great tool for unlocking new ways of thinking and putting the pieces together. But at the end of the day, what's most important, is that it sounds good to your ears and resonates in your soul.

These days, I'm finding a lot of resonance in the . It's a standard major scale with a flattened 7th. To my ears, this magical scale sounds happy but not silly happy like with the major scale. This one feels a bit more "lived in", perhaps even a little wistful. Kind of like the end of summer.
