Emilie-Claire Barlow is a singer, arranger, director, voice actress and seasoned producer. Barlow has an international career marked by fourteen albums, including La plus belle saison (released February, 2026), a love letter to the Quebec repertoire which she co‑produced with pianist and arranger François Richard.

Winner of a Félix Award and two JUNO Awards, Barlow has amassed over 500 million online streams and has performed concerts all over the world. On Saturday, David Piccini was in Port Hope where he said the province is investing $15,000 to protect creative jobs and help empower local artists to produce and present their work.

Port Hope Jazz will receive the funding through the Ontario Arts Council. The Port Hope Jazz Festival — taking place from Aug. 20 to 23 this summer — is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

“Ontario’s professional musicians and music organizations play a vital role in enriching our lives, enlivening our communities and driving economic growth,” said Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming.

“Protecting and investing in homegrown musicians who foster pride, influence creativity and strengthen local economies is a key priority for the government. I am thrilled to support Port Hope Jazz with funding to help develop, empower and promote talented musicians across the province.”
