We are to introduce you to the amazing faculty we have teaching at our ETC August ballet & contemporary Drop Ins Week (August 9-13). Today we feature Jocelyn Wozencroft , Int and Sr Ballet Classes.
After having the honor of dancing professionally in Europe and Canada;  Jocelyn Wozencroft's passion turned to the teaching and mentorship of future dancers. Jocelyn holds four accreditation's: ARAD, BA(hons), RAD RTS, PBT cert. She has won numerous teaching awards in ballet and contemporary ballet including 'Best Teacher’ and 'Best Choreographer' at various provincial and international competitions. As a professional dancer Jocelyn had the honour of working with such choreographers as Wen Wei Wang, Crystal Pite, Shawn Hounsell, Joe Laughlin, Cathy Marston and Antonio Castilla to name a few.  As a trainee, she completed all of the Royal Academy of Dance Vocational exams up to and including the Solo Seal and was a finalist at the Adeline Genee Awards in London, England.  Jocelyn had the privileged to train on scholarship at The National Ballet School, Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Banff Festival of the Arts and Boston Ballet School. Jocelyn has trained extensively in Modern dance focusing on the Graham, Limon and Cunningham techniques.  Jocelyn is a mentor, educator and adjudicator and finds passing on the art of dance to younger generations a very rewarding and prestigious opportunity 📸 . #2021

We are to introduce you to the amazing faculty we have teaching at our ETC August ballet & contemporary Drop Ins Week (August 9-13). Today we feature Andrew Haydock , Int and Sr Contemporary Classes.
Andrew Haydock was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. At the age of six he moved to Port Coquitlam BC, and now resides in the unceded land of the Coast Salish peoples–Sḵwx̱wú7mesh , Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm Nations. He then started his formal training at Danzmode Production, under the direction of Rachael Poirier. Spending many hours at the studio, training in a variety of styles, he was able to compete in many local and international competitions. During his training he started his professional dance career working with Patrick Roberge Productions in shows such as Pop City, BC Marketers Awards, and Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary Gala. After he finished his training at Danzmode Andrew was accepted into the Source Dance Company, directed by Joanne Pesusich. After his two years in Source he was given a scholarship to attend Arts Umbrellas Grad Program, under the direction of Artemis Gordon and Lynn Sheppard . He’s had the pleasure of working with choreographers such as Crytstal Pite, Heather Laura Grey, Amber Funk Barton, Eric Beauchesne, Heather Dotto, and Wen Wei Wang.  He has also just finished his first national tour with Wen Wei Dance Company performing in Agora De La Danse and La Rotonde festivals. Andrew is currently focusing his time on his collective ‘Dance Anonymous’ which will be premiering work in summer of 2022. Andrew’s very grateful to be sharing his knowledge of dance with Élevé Training Centre. 📸 #2021

We are to introduce you to the amazing faculty we have teaching at our ETC August ballet & contemporary Drop Ins Week (August 9-13). Today we feature Peter Smida, Int and Sr Contemporary Classes.

Peter is privileged to live, work and create on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples: Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. 
Peter is an independent dancer, choreographer, actor and emerging filmmaker based in Vancouver, BC. He is currently the Artist In Residence and the Creative Content Producer with Ballet BC. He teaches for Modus Operandi (Tiffany Tregarthen & David Raymond) and the Arts Umbrella Dance Company (Artemis Gordon).
Born and raised in Kingston, Ontario, Peter moved away from home at the age of 16 to begin his formal training at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Upon graduating from the RWB, he spent a year as an aspirant where he performed with the company as well as guesting with Ballet Victoria and Ballet BC.
Peter officially joined Ballet BC as a company artist in 2008 and stayed there for the next 11 seasons. There, he created, collaborated, and performed works by internationally esteemed choreographers such as Crystal Pite, William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin, Johan Inger, Jorma Elo, Itzik Galili, Sharon Eyal and Medhi Walerski, among several others. In addition to dancing with the company, Peter has choreographed works and produced films for several workshops and labs as part of the company’s outreach. With Ballet BC he has also served as a rehearsal director and coach is the current Artist in Residence.
Peter’s film “Let me leave so that you may continue” was recently featured on the Tanstheater Wuppertal (Pina Bausch Company) Create’s Platform as part of their Digital Stage Series.
His passion and underlying mission is to explore new ways to create and tell stories with the physical body through the mediums of dance, theatre and film.📸
