🎭 CREW MEMBER SPOTLIGHT — MEET BILL! 🎶💡

There’s a little bit of magic that happens behind the scenes at Periscope Playhouse, and Bill loves watching it unfold!

From that very first script reading, when he’s thinking, “Ohhh Ohhhh!!!” 😂, to watching the actors develop and polish their characters, Bill says the transformation is what he enjoys most about volunteering at the theatre.

And when it all comes together? WOW!!! 👏

As part of our lights and sound crew, Bill helps bring every performance to life! Thank you, Bill, for sharing your enthusiasm, talent and time with Periscope Playhouse! ❤️

🎭 HAVE YOU EVER WANTED TO TRY ACTING? HERE’S YOUR CHANCE! 🎭

Periscope Playhouse is excited to announce auditions for our spring 2027 production of PLAZA SUITE, written by the legendary Neil Simon and directed by Tim Wells!

And here’s the exciting part… we’re looking for 5 women and 5 men to bring this hilarious comedy to life!

Set in New York City’s famous Plaza Hotel, Plaza Suite tells three very different stories, all taking place in the same hotel suite.

❤️ A marriage that may not be quite as perfect as it seems.

🥂 A Hollywood producer hoping to rekindle an old romance.

💍 And two frantic parents trying to convince their daughter to come out of the bathroom and get married!

Three acts, three different stories, and plenty of the sharp wit, unforgettable characters and laugh-out-loud moments that made Neil Simon one of Broadway’s most beloved playwrights.

And with 10 roles to fill, there’s a wonderful opportunity for both experienced performers and people who have always wanted to give theatre a try!

🎭 AUDITION DATES

📅 Friday, November 20, 2026 — 7–9 PM

📅 Saturday, November 21, 2026 — 2 PM

📅 Sunday, November 29, 2026 — 2 PM

📍 Periscope Playhouse
42 Wellington Street, Port Burwell

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, so there’s nothing to memorize or prepare ahead of time.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

If you’ve been on stage before, we’d love to see you again. If you’ve never acted but have always wondered what it would be like, we’d love to meet you too!

Community theatre is all about trying something new, meeting wonderful people and having a whole lot of fun along the way.

Who knows? Your next adventure might just begin in Suite 719! 🎭

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post. You never know which of your friends might be our next star!

🎭🎉 BIG NEWS FROM PERISCOPE PLAYHOUSE! 🎉🎭

2027 IS GOING TO BE A NEIL SIMON YEAR!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce our 2027 theatre season, and we’re celebrating one of the greatest comedy playwrights of all time — NEIL SIMON!

A Broadway legend, winner of four Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize, Neil Simon gave the world some of the most beloved comedies ever written. His unforgettable characters, brilliant humour and hilarious take on everyday life have entertained audiences for generations.

And next year, we’re bringing TWO of his classics to the Periscope Playhouse stage!

🌷 SPRING 2027 — PLAZA SUITE

🎬 Directed by Tim Wells

Welcome to New York’s famous Plaza Hotel, where three very different couples find themselves in the same suite, each with their own hilarious complications! Marriage, romance, misunderstandings and plenty of laughs make this a Neil Simon favourite.

🍂 FALL 2027 — THE ODD COUPLE (FEMALE EDITION)

🎬 Directed by Doug Avram

The classic comedy gets a fabulous twist! Meet Olive Madison and Florence Unger — two friends who couldn’t be more different. One’s a slob, the other’s a neat freak, and putting them under the same roof is a recipe for absolute chaos!

🎭 AND HERE’S THE EXCITING PART!

Have you ever thought about stepping onto our stage? Maybe 2027 is YOUR year!

📣 AUDITION NOTICES COMING SOON!

📅 PERFORMANCE DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!

Whether you love being on stage, working behind the scenes or simply sitting back and enjoying a great comedy, we can’t wait to share this season with you.

TWO CLASSIC COMEDIES. TWO TALENTED DIRECTORS. ONE LEGENDARY PLAYWRIGHT.

And a whole lot of laughter coming to Port Burwell!

❤️ From all of us at Periscope Playhouse, thank you for supporting community theatre. We couldn’t do it without you!
