When Avalon Employment Inc. Autism-At-Work reached out to our AppleFest! committee and offered to put together grab bags for our sponsors at the Opening Ceremony, we thought it was such a lovely way to say thank you to the people who help make our festival possible. We said YES! ๐
Little did we know just how much more they would bring to AppleFest! They added something truly special that we didn't even realize was missing! โค๏ธ
Sherri put so much thought and care into every detail of the sponsor tent, making it all about apples! ๐ From handprint apple ornaments to little apple-shaped fidgets, everything was creative, thoughtful, and perfectly suited to our festival.
But that wasn't all! Autism@Work also provided a sensory tent at our ๐ข๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ throughout the day. This quiet, low-stimulation space offered a place for people to take a break, manage sensory overload, and reduce anxiety when the festival became overwhelming.
This was something NEW to AppleFest! in 2026, and we are so proud to have been able to offer it to our visitors. It was a wonderful reminder that making a festival welcoming means thinking about everyone's needs and finding ways to help everyone feel included. โค๏ธ
