Port au Choix Annual Cod Festival Through the centuries the legendary cod fishery played a central role in shaping Newfoundland & Labrador.

Celebrate with us in Port au Choix during the annual Cod Festival that debuted in 2024 to unveil an 8-foot granite cod monument in Gargamelle Cove.

We would like to thank everyone for making the 3rd Annual Cod Festival a success. It was a windy weekend but we made the best of it. Lots of people got out and took part which is always good to see. Some thank you: A big thank you to the fire dept who are always ready and willing to help out with parades etc and the fire works last night. Thank you to the RCMP, Hydro, Paramedics, Forestry and Parks Canada for showing up for the touch a truck! Thanks to the Sea Echo for letting us have the trivia night there. A special thanks to the Lions Club for sponsoring the dance with Danny Carroll. (a great time!) Thank you to the Firettes for putting of the darts and helping with the Kids cod parade and to industrial Tech (Colleen Costello) for sponsoring that event. Thanks to Andy and Sybrina for taking care of the teens co****le tournament and Vernon Lavers for doing the cod soup. Big thanks to the heritage committee, the GNP Committee, Colemans and Andys and the church group for sponsoring events as well. Thanks to Dave Jones and the church choir for taking part in the blessing of the fleet along with Father Jaison. Thanks to Lizeta, Gord, Myra & Philomena for providing entertainment at events. Thank you to the Town of Port au Choix for providing funding to host some of the events. And finally Thank You to the committee for organizing and planning all the events. We may have forgot someone but thank you all!

You have probably already guessed but the fireworks planned for tonight have been cancelled. Keep an eye out, because the first nice day we Get the fireworks Will be Lit!

The Blessing of the Fleet will take place at the harbour authority building. The service and music will be inside. Hoping fishermen will bring their boats to that area to be blessed. Everyone welcome !
