During her early youth, Vi continued to draw and paint on her own over the years into her late teens and well beyond. In 1975, she met an ACI (Alexander Certified Instructor) who introduced Vi to, and was instrumental in whetting Vi's determination to learn and put into practise the Wet -on- Wet technique just prior to moving to Port Alberni. In 1992, Vi has had the honour of personally meeting an
d knowing the late Bill Alexander, who developed his 'Wet-on-Wet' painting technique, his own paint formula and was the first artist to promote the Wet-on-Wet painting technique on public television in the 1970's. Bill had mentored the late Bob Ross and many famous, established artists we know today were associated with Bill Alexander and his painting technique. Encouraged by the Master Artist, Bill Alexander, Vi earned her (ACI) Alexander Certified Instructor Diploma at the Silver Falls Accredited Teaching Seminar in Salem, Oregon in 1992. Vi was privileged to be a friend of, and to be mentored by, Bill Alexander during his latter years in life, which were spent in Port Alberni. Since then Vi has continued her passion with painting to this day, and teaches oil painting classes. Many of Vi's original art compositions hang in various Canadian cities and homes....and in countries as far as Taiwan.
