We are hard at work getting everything ready for this year's festival, and we are absolutely blown away by the community support we've received so far.

That being said, we want to make sure we aren't leaving anyone out!

We are currently looking for local businesses to partner with. If you are a business owner in town or know of one who might want to help support the festival, we would love to connect with you.

Entry #8 by Yunny Kim - The Salmon Festival is not merely an annual event, but the living heartbeat of Port Alberni - a gathering place woven from history, community, and pride. A salmon silhouette frames the soul of this city - its Hole in the Wall, Harbour Quay Clock Tower, No. 7 Steam Train, Mars Bomber, Mt. Arrowsmith, west coast wildlife, and Indigenous totems, canoe & cedar tree. Because every September, the salmon don't just return to the river. They bring the whole community home.

Kid’s Design: Entry #1 by Tetley
Tetley is 10yrs old, and loves drawing! She wanted to draw a salmon, because they are at the heart of Salmon Festival.

The winning designs will be printed on the 2026 festival shirts, and win a Salmon Dinner, an honorarium and two hoodies and two t-shirts free from our print partners at Strong N Free CDN
