Needle Felted Wool “Paintings”
I am so thankful that a friend of mine introduced me to wonderful wooly world of needle felting! To the uninitiated, the term brings to mind images of embroidery or cross-stitching, and anyone who knows me knows that I am practically allergic to sewing in any form. But needle felting is different, it’s closer to painting than sewing. You can mix colours, layer, change the intensity of hues by how far apart the fibres are spread, and my favourite is that you can even play with the texture and add an element of sculpture to two dimensional pieces of art. I hope anyone with a crafty or artistic side will try out this unique art form and enjoy it as much as I do!
