Im finishing up my last 2 makeover babies and then i will be taking a break until I can find a decent paint stripper.

I had a brand new bottle of the Winsor and Newton that I thought I had bought before they changed the formula and when I opened it then other day it was like opening a bottle of water....completely useless 👎

Baby powder wafers sometimes make the reborns smell like smoke...
Just an informative post for anyone buying, trading, or selling a reborn doll: ask if the doll has a baby powder wafer inside. I’m advising this in case claims of a smoke smell are ever made, so you know one possible reason why, or in case you buy a baby and think it smells like smoke. I know some people love using wafers in their babies, but in my experience, after sitting inside the doll for a long time, they can start smelling like stale smoke or even urine. I bought a doll on eBay to restore and ended up replacing the cloth body and polyfill because the smell had soaked into everything, and I even stripped and repainted the doll. The sweeter parts of the fragrance fade first, leaving behind heavier fragrance chemicals like musk and coumarin trapped in the stuffing and vinyl, which can create a stale smoky smell over time as the scent breaks down. Also, moisture trapped inside the doll over the years can allow bacteria to build up in the stuffing and cloth body, making the smell even worse. Honestly, when those wafers are placed in the diaper area, to me they can smell like urine 😝 That’s personally why I don’t use scent wafers in my babies.
