Bard on The Bandstand Bard on the Bandstand Since our inception in 2002, Emerald Pig Theatrical Society continues to be a locally based, non-profit community theatre company.

Bard on the Bandstand is a free, community festival event in support of the local food bank, Friends in Need. It takes place on the bandstand in Memorial Peace Park in Maple Ridge and Spirit Square in Pitt Meadows. After so many successful years presenting Shakespeare to a live and appreciative audience, we are confident of its enduring value and enrichment to our community. Everyone attending the

event is asked to bring a nonperishable food donation for Friends in Need. This is a time of year when the stock on the shelves is low, but the need is still high. The event is family-friendly, free entertainment for everyone, but especially for those who can least afford to see live theatre. Central locations and our partnership with the Friends in Need food bank mean a lot of exposure for potential sponsors. Our sponsors can be very proud of the quality of work that Emerald Pig puts on stage and the values that we model in the community. As in past years, we strive to provide an alternative to unnecessary use of gasoline to leave our community in search of rewarding and entertaining events. We are always looking for new and creative ways to support our local businesses. If you would like to support this event financially, please reach out to us. AUDITIONS coming in August!!

Emerald Pig is auditioning for their first show in our 2026/2027 Season...
"SIBERIAN SUMMER", written by Paul Van Dyck, and directed by Hazel Eason (Suburban Standoff, Buying the Moose).

AUDITION DATES:
– Sunday August 9th - by appointment
– Monday August 10th - by appointment
– Callbacks – Tuesday August 11 at 7pm – location TBA, by invitation only

Three retired lifelong friends and one directionless adult son embark on a bucket-list journey aboard the Trans-Siberian Railway from St. Petersburg to Beijing. Guided by a fiercely blunt Russian tour guide, the tight quarters and endless flow of vodka quickly turn this dream vacation into a hilarious, high-stakes pressure cooker. Siberian Summer is a fast-paced, heartwarming ensemble comedy about shedding emotional baggage, rediscovering independence, and finding the fierce courage to start living at any age.

Run Dates are Thursday to Sunday from November 5 to 15.
Rehearsals are Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings beginning August 16.

Coming in September! Emerald Pig Theatrical Society is hosting our 2nd Annual Fundraising event - the TEACUPS & TOADSTOOLS TEA PARTY!

If you attended the event last year, then you already know how fabulous it was! The tea and canapes, the decorations and the ambience were very well received, and we're very excited to do it again 💚
