✨🔴Nowruz Mubarak🔴✨

I am not Persian and have only gotten to know about Nowruz as an adult.

This year I will share artwork of one of my most favorite friuits: the delicious Pomegranate.

🔴Pomegranate motifs are common in traditional art and textiles throughout Iran, Central and South Asia.

🔴The pomegranate (Punica granatum), known as Anar in Persian and Central Asian languages, is deeply rooted in the culture, history, and cuisine of the Iranian plateau, Central Asia, and the Caucasus, where it has been cultivated for over 5,000 years. Regarded as a "heavenly fruit," it is a potent symbol of fertility, abundance, life, and renewal, featuring prominently in literature, festivals, and traditional medicine. The bright red seeds and juice are considered a symbol of life, the sun, and the victory of light over darkness, often linked to the Persian god of light, Mithra.

🔴As a native fruit to Iran and Afghanistan, it is deeply intertwined with local culture, appearing in poetry, art, and on the decorative Haft-seen table (or as a festive treat) to signify the renewal of life.

🔴In India it is revered as a sacred fruit (Sanskrit: dāḍima) in Hinduism and Ayurveda, they are associated with deities like Ganesha and Lakshmi, frequently appearing in rituals, art, and traditional medicine. Pomegranates represent prosperity and the "pūrṇaghața" (an overflowing vase of abundance).

🔴The Pomegranate Theory (Growth/Complexity): Modern psychology uses it to represent the integration of both light and dark aspects of life—pleasure and pain—for personal growth, similar to how one must consume all the seeds to experience the full fruit.

🔴It is used in contemporary poetry to symbolize a "give and take" love, comparing the staining juice to the intense, sometimes consuming nature of love.

🔴Pomegranates are highly nutritious, antioxidant-rich fruits often considered a superfood due to their potential benefits for heart health, immunity, and reducing inflammation. They are characterized by their sweet-tart red seeds (arils), high fiber content, and versatility in various dishes.

✨What do pomegranates mean to you?✨

🏵️Navreh Mubarak!!🏵️

Navreh is the Kashmiri New Year. It is the start of the 9-day spring festival of Navratri. The Navreh festival is dedicated to the goddess Sharika, a form of Durga or Shakti. It takes place on the first day of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) on the month of Chaitra (March–April) of the Kashmiri Hindu calendar.

I consider this time to be very auspicious this year as Eid Ul Fitr (marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan) starts tonight and Nowruz (Persian New Year) starts tomorrow. A powerful time indeed. Let us all pool our healing vibrations together and pray for peace and unity among us 🙏🤲

🤍Today is International Polar Bear Day!

✨🤍The day was founded to coincide with the time period when polar bear moms and cubs are snug in their dens. Right now, polar bear moms and their newborn cubs are snuggled together in snow dens across the Arctic.

🤍✨Denning is the most vulnerable time in a polar bear’s life. And in a warming Arctic, where polar bears face enormous challenges, the survival of every single cub is critically important.

✨🤍Polar bear cubs are born in winter dens hidden under the snow. At birth, they are blind, weigh little more than one pound, and have only a light layer of fur to protect them from the cold. Families remain in the den until spring when the cubs are finally large enough to survive the rigors of outside Arctic conditions.

🍂🍃 Leaves are dancing on a windy day, not just dead, but full of life. They are considered incredibly nostalgic and represent a golden song.

🍃🍂 They remind us to embrace the ordinary and find bliss in small, fluttering moments.

🍂🍃 The colors and shapes of leaves are a muse for painters and poets, acting as a guide for artistic creation.

🍃🍂 Leaves are beautiful at any time of the year ✨️

🐾🐶😊 No, this isn't art (or maybe it is). Yes, I might have been playing around in tik tok.

I have no clue if this helps the algorithm but who cares.

For those of you who don't know, these are the absolute loves of my life, Dasher and Diego Tardelli. Hope this puts a smile on your face LinkedIn 😊 🐶🐾

✨️🧿 Paisley is a popular, intricate textile pattern characterized by the boteh or buta, a teardrop-shaped motif with a curved upper end, often symbolizing life, eternity, and fertility. Originating in Persia over 2,000 years ago, it evolved through India before becoming famous in the West via 19th-century Scottish textile production. Common in vibrant colors like deep reds, blues, and gold, this timeless, bohemian design is frequently used in fashion for scarves, ties, and apparel. 🧿✨️

Enjoy 💙💛
