Dreaming of your own wooden boat? Now's your chance! A group of County youth, along with the help of three mentors, have been building a 7' rowboat and it is being auctioned off to raise funds for Youth Craft Academy, a program that teaches youth craft-based skills such as woodworking, fibre arts, glass work and ceramics.
It's an amazing little boat with a very unique design feature. To learn more about the auction and the boat click here!

We witnessed some beautiful teamwork happening today at Boat Class. We made major headway today too: we attached the bottom of our boat and secured our lap joint which meant we were able to take the boat off its form and flip it right side up! What a crew. We all can’t wait to see if our boat floats 😅 Ahoy Mateys!!

We are half way through our boat course and starting to see a form come to shape. This week our crew were learning how to sharpen and use hand planes and how to use the jigsaw. We’re so lucky to have woodworker extraordinaire Paul Epp mentor this project. Stay tuned for what’s happening next!!
