When this memory popped up from a year ago, I thought I would share it to explain where my passion for barn quilts came from, and the process of creating one with the help of the talented Pat Dubyk. So delighted to be a host on the PEC barn quilt trail - thrilled to be designing and painting quilts for client’s homes throughout the County and beyond.😊
March 2020 - When we first drove through the county in September 2018, I was struck by the beautiful painted barn quilts that adorned homes and barn walls. I was intrigued - and last summer met the lady behind the project and designs. Last month, I was excited to join her in her studio to design and paint a quilt for our home. My vision was poppies. After researching quilt ideas, we drew out the design and started painting. Ideas evolved as we moved through the process - I am thrilled with the final result! It was a remarkable experience and so rewarding. We are now a member of the PEC Barn Quilt Trail - a host to one of the more than 150 quilts that dot the county with vibrant colours and designs. I am looking forward to continuing to be a part of this creative endeavour.
