Carlannah's Creations Canadian mixed media artist, inspired by the beauty of nature. My name is Carlannah Chester and I am an artist from the Greater Toronto Area.

I love to experiment with a variety of media, including acrylic paint, watercolour, pen and ink, collage, photography, etc. I grew up in the country and have always been inspired by the beauty of nature, which I strive to capture in my artwork. I am grateful to be able to share my artistic creations with you.

A little taste of fall, inspired by the Group of Seven šŸ‚šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦

Iā€™ve always loved the way the Group of Seven captured the rugged beauty of the Canadian landscape, so I decided to create my own interpretation using scraps of pour art paper.

This piece is particularly influenced by Lauren Harrisā€™ Autumn, Algoma. I love finding new ways to use leftover art ā€” in my studio, nothing goes to waste! šŸ

I came across this little elephant I made last year and I canā€™t believe how different my work looks now!

Itā€™s kind of crazy to look back and see the progress you make without even realizing it. šŸ¤

If youā€™re working on something and feel like youā€™re not getting anywhere, keep going. You really do get better with time!

This might just be my favourite reveal yet. šŸ˜āœØ

I will be travelling to Africa this summer and I couldnā€™t resist creating an elephant painting to celebrate the journey ahead. Watching this gentle giant come to life reminded me why I love this art form so much.

Thereā€™s something special about creating art thatā€™s inspired by a place youā€™re about to experience. I canā€™t wait to see these incredible animals in the wild and bring that inspiration back into my future paintings.

This heart collage card was a piece I created for my cousinā€™s wedding using fluid art and gelatin monoprints. šŸ’•āœØ

What makes this project even more meaningful is that Carlannahā€™s Creations actually began as a handmade card business when I was very young. Over the years, my artistic journey has taken me in many different directionsā€”from cards to jewelry to watercolour to squeegee art, and beyondā€”but making cards still brings me so much joy!

Thereā€™s something special about creating a one-of-a-kind piece for an important life moment. Wishing the happy couple a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and beautiful memories. šŸ’ā¤ļø

Thank you so much to everyone who voted and helped me choose the background for this hummingbird collage. Your input made such a difference in bringing this piece to life!

This artwork actually started as a squeegee painting that didnā€™t turn out the way I planned. I was ready to move on, but instead of letting it go, I shifted direction and rebuilt it into a collage. From there, it became a full journeyā€”layer by layer, decision by decision, and eventually with your help in choosing the final background.

Itā€™s a reminder that the creative process isnā€™t always a straight path. Sometimes the ā€œmistakesā€ are just turning points leading you somewhere better than you expected.
