Celebrating Innovation, Creativity & Future Leaders

We had the privilege of attending the Durham Design Rockets Closing Ceremony and celebrating an incredible group of young innovators who spent the past 10 weeks learning, collaborating, problem-solving, and bringing their ideas to life.

It was inspiring to witness the confidence, creativity, leadership, and determination these students demonstrated throughout their journey. Programs like these remind us of the incredible potential that exists within our youth when they are given the opportunity to explore, create, and grow.

A heartfelt thank you to the Honourable Mayor Kevin Ashe and Honourable Councillor Shaheen Butt for joining the celebration and for their continued support of youth development, innovation, and community initiatives.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Pickering Public Library staff for providing a welcoming space and helping create opportunities for young people to learn, connect, and thrive.

A special thank you to Maqbool Law for sponsoring the cash prize awarded to the winning team. Support from local businesses helps encourage young innovators to dream bigger, work harder, and continue developing their ideas and leadership skills.

We are grateful to have played a small supporting role in this celebration through SBC Art Retreats, helping recognize the achievements of these talented young participants.

Congratulations to all the participants, winners, volunteers, mentors, organizers, sponsors, and supporters who made this program such a success.
