Announcing this year's Emerging Artist Night! 🔥🎶

Join us on January 16, 2027, for a one-night-only showcase celebrating 25 years of the Peterborough Folk Festival's Emerging Artist program at Market Hall Performing Arts Centre.

This new winter showcase debuted last year and sold out. We're bringing it back to Market Hall, and expect tickets to move fast.

Past emerging artists VANCAMP and Jeanne Truax return to the stage alongside 2026 Peterborough Folk Festival Emerging Artist of the Year, Tristan Konkle, for an evening of live music from each of their bands.

Since being named, these artists have continued to solidify their place in Canada's music scene with exciting tour dates from coast to coast, strong releases, and collaborations with well-known Canadian artists.

Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital Grants fund programs and services that support the people of Ontario and provide opportunities for activity, recreation, and connection. This year, PFF received funding to buy safety equipment like lighting, eco equipment like wagons to deliver clean dishes to food vendors, and accessibility equipment like cable ramps. This grant supports organizations that play an important role in creating healthy and vibrant communities where everyone feels a sense of belonging. Sound familiar?😉

The Ontario Arts Presenters Projects program by the Ontario Arts Council | Conseil des arts de l’Ontario aims to develop audiences for the arts in Ontario regions outside of Toronto by supporting Ontario-based presenter organizations and collectives led by volunteer community members, like Folk Fest! Our 2026 Emerging Artist was busy this weekend! After Tristan Konkle & band helped kick off the fest on Thursday, he played the Rotary Stage and shared the stage with Tennyson King on Saturday🎸

As the recipient of this year’s Emerging Artist Award, in addition to performing at the festival, PFF will sponsor Konkle to attend the annual Folk Canada Conference, designed to provide mentorship, networking and showcasing opportunities for dedicated artists. The Peterborough Musicians Benevolent Association (PMBA) presented Konkle with the $1,000 Lynn Morris / PMBA Emerging Artist Award and Electric Alchemy Recording Studio contributes to the award by providing professional studio support to help emerging artists continue developing their music.
