🎺Call for 2026 Emerging Artist Submissions💥

Since 2001, the PFF Emerging Artist Award has been a part of the festival’s mission to invest in promising upcoming local talent of Peterborough and the Kawarthas, including Hiawatha, Curve Lake and Alderville First Nations. Winners are provided showcase performance spots at this year's festival and a trip to the Folk Canada Conference (formerly Folk Music Ontario) .

Starting in 2025, the Peterborough Musicians Benevolent Association (PMBA) supplements the award with the $1,000 PMBA Lynn Morris Memorial Award, and Electric Alchemy Recording Studio provides the artist with recording and production of a single.

Submissions are now open on the PFF website and will close on February 20, 2026! https://www.peterboroughfolkfest.com/emerging-artist

Sanderson Centre Presents:

SKéN:NEN - 20th Anniversary Celebration!

Kaha:wi Dance Theatre’s electrifying, immersive performance SKéN:NEN pulses with Indigenous futurism. Rooted in the Kanyen'kéha word for peace, SKéN:NEN weaves a hauntingly beautiful narrative set in a post-environmental collapse. Through movement, sound, and story, it channels ancestral Rotinonshón:ni knowledge, resilience, and the urgent need to restore harmony with the natural world.

Created by Santee Smith (Six Nations), SKéN:NEN is bold and visionary, a multi-sensory experience that is both a warning and a call to remember: the future depends on how we care for the Earth.

Event date: Wednesday, February 4, 2026
Time: 7:00pm
