Program details:
Throughout this 5 week series, you will learn the basics of Raqs Sharqi (Belly Dance). Each Series includes an important history lesson. This dance is dramatic, emotional, and beautiful in every sense of the word. By the end of the program, you will have a basic understanding of movement combos, traveling and expression. Each class, you will learn a mini choreography utilizing the movements you've learned in the program.

Q's & A's
Q: Can I still drop-in ?
A: This program is registration only. Contact us for details about late enrolment.
Q: What do I wear?
A: We recommend yoga pants or leggings, and a comfy tank top or sports bra. At the end of the day, just wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
Q: Will we ever be able to perform?
A: This course does not end with a performance, but if you are interested in taking the performance program, this is exactly where you should start! After taking this course, talk to Keisha about joining the Level 1-2 Class and its requirements.

Keisha began her belly dance journey in 2004, and since then has trained with top-level instructors from around the world and performed throughout BC, Europe, and Mexico.
Her teachers include some of the most respected names in the art form — Dina Talat, Cameila, Hanny Morgan, Dr. George Sawa, Khairiya Maazin, Mohamad Salah, Rahel, Yasmina Ramzy, Sharadaz, Hadia, and more.
In 2019, Keisha made the trip of a lifetime to Egypt, where she immersed herself in the culture and received lessons from master belly dancers and musicians.
She is known for her enticing stage presence and informed teaching style, and is respected for her ethics and commitment to providing accurate, trustworthy information to her clients and students — but above all is her never-ending joy for the dance.
