Peach Festival 2026 was not the ending any of us imagined.
The decision to cancel the Bannister Penticton Peach n Beach Parade and the programming that followed was incredibly difficult. Months of planning, countless volunteer hours, and so much heart go into those final days — and we know how much the parade and Festival weekend mean to our community.
As the wildfire situation continued to evolve, there were many difficult conversations behind the scenes. Ultimately, every decision came back to protecting our community, keeping critical routes available for emergency response, and ensuring resources and volunteer capacity were where they were needed most.
We know it was the right decision. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t heartbreaking.
What we will remember most about Peach Festival 2026 is how quickly this community came together.
Our volunteers adapted. Our partners stepped up. Our community showed compassion. And when plans changed, we found a way to turn part of our Festival into an opportunity to support those impacted by the wildfire.
To everyone who joined us before the Festival was cut short, to those who had been looking forward to the parade and final weekend, and to every volunteer, performer, participant and community member who poured their heart into Peach Festival — thank you.
Peach Festival has always been about more than five days in August. It is about community.
And this year, our community showed us exactly what that means. ❤️
We look forward to coming together again in 2027.
